BIOGRAPHY

After working in industry Marie became an educator - teaching, lecturing, administrating at all levels from pre-school to University. She has designed, organised, obtained financing for and taught a wide range of courses and educational experiences - for people working for and with youth, adult learners, religious groups, medical professionals, industrialists. In her 'spare' time she established and ran a village youth and community centre. Marie's joint appointment prior to retirement from University life was as Head of the Centre for Professional Studies and Warden of a Hall of Residence. Marie was involved in manual, technical and academic appointments, training and development and as Warden was required to be a licensee!

Family Life

Marie is married to Michael and they have been married for a good few years! For many of those years their primary home has been in Wells-next-the-Sea. They share the same interests shown above and additionally enjoy being on the water - Michael's preference is sailing, Marie's, the less energetic movement of the kayak. Having worked miles apart for years and with unsocial schedules Marie and Mike decided that if she became a councillor Michael would support her as much as possible - and Marie considers his assistance invaluable.
